Personal Project:
Jerry Can Mini-Bar
Inspired by the trend on Etsy, I restored and converted a variety of 40’s and 50’s era jerry cans into portable mini-bars for the more lively members of my family.
I wanted to make sure that the wood used in the interior was the same spalted maple I get from Chambers Island. To do this, I had to find the tree, mill the tree, transport the wood 7.1 miles across Lake Michigan, then store it in Iowa - the place I was living at the time. Each unit was tailored specifically to the family member it was being gifted to.
Blue/white for the sister that went to UK in Kentucky, orange/white for the grandpa that went to UNI in Illinois, and beige/black for me.
